Everyday I am getting more and more anxious about leaving. I’m not prepared at all at this point. I really want to know what I will be doing for my internship. They sent us an email saying we would find out the first week of classes. I really hope it’s something new, different, and fun. I’m not getting my hopes too high thought. I’ll accept anything! :)

Here’s what my class schedule will be:
Monday
8-10am Intro to GIS Lecture
10-12pm GIS Lab

Tuesday
No Class, probably working

Wednesday
9am-10am Intro to Australian Politics Tutorial
10am-12pm Intro to Australian Politics Lecture

Thursday
9-11am Australian Vegetation Lecture
11am-1pm Australian Vegetation Lab

Friday
No Class!

I’m really looking forward to the classes, I think they will be very interesting, especially Australian Vegetation:

“This course explores the evolution, diversity and historical biogeography of Australian plants and Australian vegetation communities as well as the biology, ecology and adaptations of Australian plants in terrestrial and aquatic environments. The course includes an introduction to plant classification and features major Australian plant families. The ecology of Australian plant communities is explored; including effects of fire; and nutrient levels on community structure, composition and diversity. Practical sessions develop basic skills in plant identification, community classification, field surveys and data analysis. The course incorporates several field trips.

Yes! Field trips! I love field trips, especially if they involve trees. And if you know me, you know that class is just for me! Haha…I’m cool.

I hope Intro to Australian Politics will be okay for me…American Government was pretty tough, and I know nothing about Australian Politics. I need to read up. I do have a long plane ride to read on I guess. But I always end up thinking I’m going to read and do all these things on the plane, but I just end up sleeping. I will probably end up doing that since my flight out of LA leaves at 11:55pm. Hopefully I’ll be tired and will just sleep a lot. It’s a 14 hour flight. I thought it would be longer than that. That’s how long the flight to China was. I have more layovers, though. I have to go from RDU to Atlanta, to LA, to Brisbane. It’ll be about 20 hours of flying time. Somehow, after all that flying and leaving on Feb 7, I end up in Australia on Feb 9 at 8am. I really don’t get time changes, and I’m not going to try to understand it. I’m just going to get someone in Australia to tell me what time it is. I think I’ll be 15 hours ahead though.

I’m trying to start think about things in metric and time in the 24 hour way. It’s 0 degrees out and is 20:07.

Anyway. I’m really bored! Ahh! This weekend was really fun. I only have two more fun weekends left in America! WOAH!
