Ahh…so my internet is back up working normally now, so I will do a nice big post. It is 11:56pm on Tuesday, February 20. I took a very long nap this afternoon so now I can’t sleep. I’ve been a little sick with a cold lately, so my energy has been completely drained. I didn’t have any classes today so I just laid low. We watched 10 Things I Hate About You, and then some OC. Rhi has the first two seasons on DVD, and Australian DVDs work on my laptop! I’m very excited about this because the school’s library has an extensive movie selection which you can check out. Anyways, let me recap the weekend.

Saturday we went to Brisbane on a trip organized by the International Relations (IR) office. We first stopped at this outlet mall which was HUGE. We did some quiksilver/roxy/billabong shopping, and then went to the Southbank area of Brisbane, which was very nice. We saw some old trees, and walked around by the river.

Sunday we (Sunny, Christine, Lizzy and me) woke up very early to meet for the IR office’s free breakfast and Sunshine Coast tour. We had breakfast by the beach at a surf club, and then drove around to various small towns and little areas. We got a view of the Glass House Mountains, although it was a bit cloudy. The best part of the trip was our stop in Noosa. There’s a terrific beach there, but also Noosa National Park, which is a rainforest. We hiked around and saw guanas, turkeys, parrots, and KOALAS! We found two koalas up in the trees. We also saw some amazing huge old trees. Hopefully in the coming weeks I will learn which species they are. Then the bus dropped us off in Mooloolaba and we ate fish and chips by the beach. We walked around the harbor area of Mooloolaba and Christine and I found a sea kayaking company that will rent you kayaks. We hope to rent some this weekend to kayak around the Mooloolah River! What a lovely day!

Sunday night I was very tired from our long day and went to bed early, around 9. I also started feeling kind of crappy, with the pre-sore throat sort of cough. I woke up Monday morning with a sore throat feeling kind of yucky but made it to my first class bright and early at 8am, Intro to GIS. It will be an interesting class, it was just hard to focus because I was sick. Then Monday afternoon I went to a meeting about my internship. It
