R.I.P. iPod?

Well, my iPod went for a little swim last night.

I had a late night adventure to Cookout last night with Jill, Davis, etc. As I turned onto Kent from Western, somehow my faithful friend slid off my lap right into a cup of waterLifeguard Jill pulled it out, dripping wet. It didn’t turn on immediately, so I let it dry out last night. This morning, I got what I think is a sad Mac face, although it was a frowning picture of an iPod, and not just a sad face. Not looking good. I let it be a little longer and got a few more sad faces. Then I got just the dead battery symbol. So maybe after charging it will recover.

I must say though, I have had that iPod for three years now without one single problem. I was sure something was going to mess up, crash, go haywire — but of course it would be my own fault for its dying.

Next time your iPod or cell phone gets wet immediately dry it off and then stick it in a bowl of uncooked rice. This will draw all the moisture out of your newly baptised electronic device

Doesn’t work too well with salt water. The sodium in the water provides rapid oxidation of metal contacts in the circuits
