For Realz? Take Two.

I didn’t think there could be anything funnier than seeing George Bush have some shoes chucked at him. But alas, it happened:

Seriously, what?

Stuff White People Like: The Ugly Sweater Party

I love Stuff White People Like, and their latest one was particularly funny.

#118 Ugly Sweater Parties

“These parties feature festive drinks, Christmas music by Sufjan Stevens, and most importantly, intentionally hideous sweaters. These ugly sweaters provide white people with an invisible shield that protects them from any criticism that might emerge if any Christianity accidentally slips into the evening.”

For Realz?

This actually happened? What?

I’m a little surprised by the slow reaction time of the secret service. Come on guys!

UPDATE:

CNN reports, “The shoe-thrower — identified as Muntadhar al-Zaidi, a journalist with al-Baghdadia television network –could be heard yelling in Arabic: ‘This is a farewell … you dog!’ ”

“That was a size 10 shoe he threw, you may want to know.” – President Bush

He continues, “These journalists here were very apologetic. They … said this doesn’t represent the Iraqi people, but that’s what happens in free societies where people try to draw attention to themselves.”

Nice recovery.

Musicless Exam Period

Posted: December 10th, 2008 | Author: hannah | Filed under: Duh | 1 Comment »

This is the first exam period where I haven’t had any music to listen to in public places. My iPod committed suicide and the headphone jack of my laptop doesn’t work. This has made for interesting studying/working — I am much more easily distracted have not maintained very good focus. It is impossible for me to study in my room. Therefore, I need an iPod to make good grades. Simple logic.

Thanks to the attentive coding knowledge of Kyle I removed an extra pesky < div > tag that was hanging out where it wasn’t supposed to, and I know have a nice padding on the left-hand side there. Woohoo.

SLOTHS!

As you may know, I was a weekend captain at the science museum and helped take care of the sloth for about three years. I can say from my observations and work with the two-toed sloth at the museum, this is a very accurate depiction of the often elusive sloth:

Thanks for the link, Maggie!

…at the lack of white background on these posts. I don’t know why. I’ll figure it out when I get home. Studying studying studying right now for my Renewable Resource Management and Policy exam in the morning. Fun.

Does facebook really know me?

I think facebook uses some sort of adaptive advertising system, so your ads are based on you likes, tastes, etc. I don’t know too much about this, but do you think facebook knows me? I will let you judge. I’ve been collecting my favorite ads:

Did you ’shop those shades?

New layout is basically done! There’s a couple of weird things going on when you look at the second page of “older posts” but whatever, I’ll work that out sometime. This was a successful exam studying procrastination adventure.

Did you ’shop those shades? -Kyle

I would like to thank these jams for making this layout happen:

Owl City – Hello Seattle
Sufjan Stevens – Get Behind Me, Santa!

Bit off more than I can chew.

Bear with me for the time being. I figure most of you read this in a feed and don’t see my layout anyway, but I attempted to start a new layout today and ended up messing up my old one. Now I’m too sleepy to keep going…so for the time being we’re gonna have the old green leaves. The idea for the new layout is pretty sweet I will say, I’m just really bad at coding these themes. Yea, anyway.
