Sara graciously got me the Raleigh shirt for graduation! I’ll be struttin’ my stuff in Seattle, reppin’ R-Town right! The Ahpeele shop had really cool shirts! They give you a really cute reuseable bag, too.

Well, I think I topped the list sto of my most graceful moments! Yesterday I was parked at my apartment complex next to the curb with storm drain. The curb is at a really weird angle, and Brittany, Jasmine and I have all fallen there before. This time, though, I stepped on the angle just so that my foot twisted in and I fell over. Without any of the icky details…I broke my foot. The base of my fifth metatarsal, to be exact:

(the little bit on the left should be attached)
Right now I have a boot on my foot and crutches. I am not to skilled with crutches yet, except to turn off light switches and open and close doors, ha. I’m going to see a foot specialist hopefully on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who’s helping me along the way!

I was accepted into the natural resources MS program at University of Washington! I was so excited I forgot to aimp it.
And though I love DH Hill so so so much and have many wonderful memories and late late nights there, I look forward to this at UW:

Well, I guess I should make graduation aimp official! Last Saturday was the big day! I am officially an NCSU alum, although my unity id/library login still work so I guess it’s not truly official (how much nerd status does it win me that I actually used ebsco host after graduation? oh well.) Graduation was fantastic. We’ll forget the part where I stood up at the wrong time to announce scholars graduates, whoops, and instead think about the lovely speech my adviser gave. He even quoted Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler!!!
“Some days you must learn a great deal. But you should also have days when you allow what is already in you to swell up and touch everything. If you never let that happen, then you just accumulate facts, and they begin to rattle around inside of you.”
I was surprised when they lined us up to find out that I got to sit with all of the people in my major (I thought we would be lined up by department for some reason). All seven of us! My best natural resource buddies! UFAT! (urban forest assessment team). It was fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a better graduation. And then me and davis took an awesome bro/sis pic (which, luckily, worked out to be a great mother’s day present. totally planned it):

So now I’m just chillin. I don’t really know what to do with myself. I’m working of course, but this is the first summer I haven’t had any classes. I’m gonna try to read my books and get in good enough shape to ride a bike more than halfway up Conifer. And most importantly I’m gonna get ready to move to Seattle. AHH! It still hasn’t hit me yet…AHH!
I have chosen a couple of classes to take. Forest Community Ecology (super excited to take this because I wanted to take this at ncsu, but it overlapped with a requirement. hopefully it will help me learn my northwest trees! cause i def don’t remember them from dendro…whoops!), natural resource policy and planning, college of forest resources graduate orientation seminar, and probably grad statistics (EEK!). I still need to figure out how I’m getting out there, how i’m paying for it, and where i’m living. small details right? all in all the adventure excites me. i’ll keep ya posted!!!
