Blue skies at night

There is an interesting transition period between sunset and full nighttime in Seattle. There is this period where it’s dark out, but the sky is still blue. It’s a little spooky.

By the way, this is “Red Square” on UW campus Just like the Brickyard. I often catch myself calling it the brickyard and people don’t know what the heck I’m talking about. And it is even more slippery than the brickyard on rainy days.

Rings from yakarina

I really wanted a spoon ring, so I started searching around etsy for one I liked. I quickly found yakarina’s jewelry. Her spoon ring was just what I wanted and reasonably priced.

I looked at her other jewelry, and couldn’t help but buy this leaf ring as well. I want even more of her stuff too!

And a pleasant surprise, the rings came in these great boxes:

I think I’m going to hang them somewhere. For now I’ve got them above my mirror.

And as a side note — I am totally in love with the new camera I got for Christmas. The macro is amazing! And it takes wonderful pictures without flash. And videos in HD!

I totally love/stole

my Avatar 3D glasses. I am keeping them as some sort of keepsake. I feel like Avatar is epic, star wars style. One day maybe I can be like, “hey kids check out my ORIGINAL Avatar 3D glasses!” and they’ll be like, “aw mom, you had to wear THESE crazy things to see a movie in 3D?! Old school.”

Oh and I loved the movie too.

New planners

I am overly picky when it comes to planners and calendars, and I was perfectly content to stick with the one I’ve used for the last 18 months because it was perfect in every way. Sadly, I could not find refills or the whole planner anywhere. I think the company discontinued this line. So my search for a new planner was on. Several things are important to me: weekly, lots of writing space, durability, not spiral bound, color, reasonable price, and a medium size. I searched many stores and websites. I was disappointed in the selection on etsy. I finally stumbled upon what I hope will be a winner:

2010 Ecosystem 12-Month Weekly Planner

I hope it is as great when it arrives!

The ugliest powerpoint slide I’ve seen lately

All I could think about in class was, “man that’s and ugly slide.” The color, font, clipart…yuck.

Gmail seems to think it’s snowing in Seattle. It’s 50 degrees and raining. I’d like some snow please!
