Long, long ago, when I was about 14, I considered myself an artist. And I also considered myself a graphic designer. So, duh, I needed a website to show my art to the world. I was such a good painter, photographer, poet, drawer, collager. I knew the world just had to be graced by the beauty of my art. Oh how naive we are when we are young.
So, I taught myself Photoshop and Dreamweaver, and artismypeace.net was born April 15, 2002. The name came from a piece of artwork I did that said “art is my peace.” It’s very unattractive and hilarious, and is now of course hanging up in our apartment. At this point, I’m not sure what meaning people assume when they read “art is my peace.” Those who’ve been peacies long enough know that it’s taken on a meaning of its own.
Now that I’m older and much less pretentiously stressed-artsy, I use this as a blog for fun, just to talk about whatever strikes my fancy. I don’t pretend to be interesting, or a good writer — I just like to blog.
