PLANT THIEF!

SOMEONE STOLE THE BEAUTIFUL MUM I HAD SITTING AT OUR FRONT DOOR.

Why? Why, plant thief, would you do this? THAT IS SO MEAN.

Give me my mum back! It brought me so much joy every time I got home!

Grr. But in other news, THIS WEEK IS OVER, THANK THE LORD. It was a doozy. But it’s done. Whew.

The Gaze(tree)

For ENG 314, Technical Document Design and Editing, we had to redesign a newsletter. I chose to redo the City of Olympia’s urban forestry newsletter, the Gazetree. I’m really proud of the way it turned out!

Also, last year I wrote and designed this magazine article for ENG 333. I was really happy with the way it came out, just kept forgetting to post it.

Be Heard: Involving Yourself in Environmental Planning Projects

I don’t know what I’m doing.

The more I research graduate programs, the more I realize, I don’t know what the heck I want to do with my life I keep finding really interesting programs, and so many different things pique my interest that I wonder, am I really ready to be that focused?

One Week!

It just hit me today that Christine, German Christine, will be in America, in Raleigh, in my apartment, in ONE WEEK AND TWO DAYS.  I’ve been doing so much this summer that it hadn’t sunk in.  And OH YEA. Let’s not forget that EMILY GREENE will be home too. THIS IS SO AMAZING. And then Rhi will be here in a mere two weeks. Seriously, these three events are going to rock my world.

Yea.

R.I.P. iPod?

Posted: July 17th, 2008 | Author: Hannah | Filed under: Technology Hates Me | 3 Comments »

Well, my iPod went for a little swim last night.

I had a late night adventure to Cookout last night with Jill, Davis, etc. As I turned onto Kent from Western, somehow my faithful friend slid off my lap right into a cup of waterLifeguard Jill pulled it out, dripping wet. It didn’t turn on immediately, so I let it dry out last night. This morning, I got what I think is a sad Mac face, although it was a frowning picture of an iPod, and not just a sad face. Not looking good. I let it be a little longer and got a few more sad faces. Then I got just the dead battery symbol. So maybe after charging it will recover.

I must say though, I have had that iPod for three years now without one single problem. I was sure something was going to mess up, crash, go haywire — but of course it would be my own fault for its dying.

Economics and Love

This is a fun article that hits the nail on the head in many respects. My favorite is…

“Realistic expectations are everything. If you have unrealistic expectations, they will rarely be met. If you think that you can go from nowhere to having someone wonderful in love with you, you are probably wrong.

You need expectations that match reality before you can make some progress. There may be exceptions, but they are rare.”

This is my first blog post via digg.com! fun stuff!

I now have an about page and contact page.

I can’t sleep. Totally regretting that post-goat cookout diet coke. It was so good though!

Thank you, Lake Johnson.

I find you very therapeutic. I can easily clear my mind. I vow to run the West Loop at least once a week.

Happy belated birthday, aimp.

I was just checking around my server information today for no real reason, and discovered that artismypeace.net’s official birthday is April 15, 2002.  Happy Belated 6th birthday, aimp! I really cannot believe it has been that long. I’ve been trying to rack my brain and remember what my first layout looked like. I’m sure it looked terrible, but who knew such beautiful things would stem from that.

This also makes aimp an Aries. Very compatible with Aquarius. No wonder we’ve been friends for so long.
