My wonderful roommates gave me a zappo’s gift certificate for my birthday, and I finally settled on a pair of shoes! My old asics have done me well, but they were really wearing down so it was time for something new:

I can’t wait for them to arrive!

I’ve discovered the deliciousness of Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches! So yummy, and not too many calories!

Today they are soothing my sore throat that decided to make a come back today. Blah.

I really could care less about the new facebook changes. I’ve “survived” enough redesigns to know that we all don’t hate the changes enough to give it up. If you did give it up, impressive. But really facebook, this is just sloppy:

You really didn’t think about what would happen to people with long last names in that column? Sloppy.

I was lusting after this Pike Place artist’s toboggans that had an adorable crocheted flower on the front. They were something like $20. I happened to mention this to one of my friends, and she said, “Oh, I can crochet you a flower!” I told her I trusted her color choices, so she crocheted me the cutest flower in mint green and cream. It matched perfectly with a tan-taupe-ish toboggan I bought at H&M for something like $6. I secured it on (nothing fancy, just some extra tight tying) and now it’s my favorite toboggan to wear on chilly Seattle days. I love it! Maybe I’ll be inspired to learn how to crochet…

I’ve been sick for the last week and totally not motivated to cook anything. So my diet has consisted of cream cheese hot dogs and whatever I have laying around from last week’s grocery/market trip. Luckily I was reasonably well-stocked, so my lunch/snack/dinner for almost week consisted of: Clementine, pear, some local goat cheese from pike place coupled with my favorite fig spread. All eaten in bed, of course.

This plus Mad Men Season 1 made sick week okay.

There is an interesting transition period between sunset and full nighttime in Seattle. There is this period where it’s dark out, but the sky is still blue. It’s a little spooky.

By the way, this is “Red Square” on UW campus Just like the Brickyard. I often catch myself calling it the brickyard and people don’t know what the heck I’m talking about. And it is even more slippery than the brickyard on rainy days.

I really wanted a spoon ring, so I started searching around etsy for one I liked. I quickly found yakarina’s jewelry. Her spoon ring was just what I wanted and reasonably priced.

I looked at her other jewelry, and couldn’t help but buy this leaf ring as well. I want even more of her stuff too!

And a pleasant surprise, the rings came in these great boxes:

I think I’m going to hang them somewhere. For now I’ve got them above my mirror.

And as a side note — I am totally in love with the new camera I got for Christmas. The macro is amazing! And it takes wonderful pictures without flash. And videos in HD!
