If you’re a frequent aimp’er you know that I’m attempting to grow my hair out after having short hair for a really really long time. I can say now that my hair is the longest it’s been since 2000. Nine years! Woah! Long for me equals maybe an inch below my shoulders, an inch and a half if I straighten it. I can also say that I really like this length!
Being crippled has admittedly made me severely neglect my appearance. Those who’ve been kind enough to visit me, especially during my four days of being stuck in a recliner, can attest to that. I’ve been throwing my hair up in a pony tail mostly, so I haven’t taken stock of its length since, well, May 23rd when I first broke my foot. And it’s pretty darn long! And so far I am not tempted to cut it off. We’ll see how I continue during the hot, hot NC summer months. But I am more determined then ever this time! When I do end up cutting my hair though (it’s definitely a when, not an if!) I think I will cut it back to this length. It’s a good balance between short and long.
My long hair is really growing on me! (PUN SO INTENDED!) It’s not been this long since freshman year, and I really like it. I’m proud of my ability to pull through! I desperately need a bang trim though. I’m so not ready to step into the no bang world.
ps WOAH I forgot I dyed my hair brown one time freshman year.
Mullet stage has begun. In my previous attempts to grow my hair out, this is typically the point where I throw the towel in. My ends are getting icky (I do need a trim) and this one spot, no matter how much I comb/straighten/brush, always does its own thing. However, I’m determined to stick this one out. I think if I can make it another month I’ll be set. Summertime, though, might make me go straight back to short. We’ll see.
Also, I’m going to dye it soon. A more brownish color. Woo hoo!
My hair is pretty long right now (for me) and I’ve got a pretty good cut now that I think will grow out okay. The longest my hair has been in the last eight years is about an inch and a half past my chin, which lasted only a month or so because the cut was just kinda blah and I couldn’t handle it. History of my long hair:
5-6 years old: Long
9 years old: long for about a year
14 years old: long for about a year and a half
18 years old: “long” for about a month (inch and a half below my chin)
So I’ve only had long hair for about three or four years out of my entire (almost) 22 years of life. So long hair is a big deal for me!
I think I can do this, and what better time to? I may need your assistance in resisting the temptation to chop it all off.
So, my room is officially pure chaos and it’s starting affect my productivity more so than usual. My problem this semester has been maintaining order. I’ll semi clean my room, but then less than a day later, it’s back to chaos. My problems 1) nothing has a designated place — lack of space 2) nothing has a place because even if it did, I wouldn’t put it there. I need to clear out some clutter. Goodwill time! I’ve gotten one bag of clothes started, but hopefully I will actually take these instead of letting them sit in the back of my van for over a year, which is what happened last time I did a goodwill bag. Nonetheless, something has to be done! When, I don’t know. This week is not looking good for free time:
- Monday: Env. Impact Assessment midterm part 1, Air Photo Interpretation Lab Midterm, get together my curriculum vitae (which should’ve been done weeks ago)
- Tuesday: paper abstract due for renewable resource policy, brochure critique AND newsletter editing report due for eng 314, packing
- Wednesday: Env. Impact Assessment midterm part 2 AND THEN I LEAVE FOR SEATTLE YESSSS
That doesn’t leave much time for cleaning. I foresee putting off real cleaning until, oh say, Christmas.
